EUGENIA SMERKIS

Education
Eugenia Smerkis was raised in the family of a diplomat and a businessman and at a young age relocated with her family to Paris, France. Her father, a prominent figure in the Russian Chamber of Commerce in Paris, served as the Managing Director of the French subsidiary of a foreign trade company in the oil and gas sector. Settling in the vibrant center of Paris, Eugenia excelled academically and graduated with honors from the High School.
Her upbringing instilled in her the importance of discipline, courage, determination, and hard work, fostering qualities such as adaptability, resilience, and quick thinking.
After finishing her education in Paris, Eugenia sought independence while pursuing a degree in Economics at the prestigious Moscow State University.
She completed a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from the Moscow State University.
Following her studies, she married and relocated with her husband, who had an American education and held a senior executive role at Citibank, first to New York City before moving to London, UK.
In London, Eugenia pursued further education and completed a Master of Science degree in International Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a renowned British university specialising in the research, scientific and academic teaching of economic sciences and a member institution of the University of London.
Experience
Eugenia Smerkis started her career in the investment banking sector in London working for the prominent global financial institutions including Bank of America, BNP Paribas, Barclays Capital and Credit Suisse. She specialised in the areas of Mergers & Acquisitions, Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), privatisations and lending for the companies in the global and renewable energy sectors.
In 2012, Eugenia transitioned to the private banking sector, relocating from London to Monaco.
For 9 years Eugenia worked as the Senior Private Banker in Monaco. Initially she was the Senior Private Banker at the international private bank KBL Monaco Private Bankers, rebranded Banque Richelieu Monaco. And then she transitioned to Andbank Monaco, a private family-owned bank.
As the Senior Private Banker, Eugenia was responsible for building and managing a portfolio of High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients.
Eugenia played a crucial role in fostering business relationships with these affluent clients, acting as their trusted advisor in matters of wealth management and preservation, life insurance, lending solutions.
To address sophisticated requirements of her High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients and their Family Offices, in February 2023, Eugenia established EOS ADVISORY, a consultancy firm in Monaco expanding her services beyond private banking.
Since December 2022, Eugenia Smerkis also serves as the VIP Commercial Advisor in Generali Group in Monaco, a leading global insurance and asset management company.
In her role, Eugenia is responsible for developing commercial relationships with High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients.
She also focuses on the promotion and marketing of Generali’s diverse range of insurance products, which include life, medical, property, automobile, boat, airplane and art insurance.
Skills
Experience in investment banking sector has honoured Eugenia her financial acumen and problem-solving abilities. This expertise is complemented by a keen attention to detail, proficient time management, and a strong commitment to professionalism.
Her private banking experience deepened her understanding of wealth management and lending products, including mortgages and lombard loans.
Additionally, she has gained insight into Monaco’s regulations and compliance requirements, while cultivating a select network of reliable business partners.
As a VIP Commercial Advisor in Generali Monaco, Eugenia has strengthened her commercial skills while developing an in-depth knowledge of insurance products.
